Graduation, Cruises,Planes, and My Books

Sorry for the hiatus but between the graduation and our vacation, I chose to focus on my family rather than stress about writing and pushing out a post that wasn’t my best work. And I really didn’t want to lug my laptop across the country knowing I wouldn’t open it once I was in the sunshine. 🙂

Onto my book that I read 🙂

My one book that I brought with me was Mary Stewart’s “Rose Cottage.” A mystery about family, a missing past and ghosts. The story is set in Scotland, a bucket list vacation for me, after World War II. The main character Kathy Welland, is called home from London to help take care of her grandmother that raised her after her mother left when she was six years old. Grandma asks for some papers and trinkets from a hiding spot ion the house where she raised Kathy, Rose Cottage, aptly named due to her grandfather’s gardening skills as a Gardner for the main house. There’s a mystery to solve and nosey neighbors who see visions. It was a wonderful quick read. I actually left it behind on the cruise to pass on to someone else.

Since I finished my book, I got a trip to Books-A-Million in Orlando. We tried to find a local bookstore, Surf’s Up, but the Siri couldn’t seem to get us there. Oh well, next time :-). I ended up getting 2 mysteries, “To the Tome of Murder” by Lauren Elliot and “Murder in the Locked Library” by Ellery Adams. I really enjoy Ellery Adams books in the past and am looking forward to reading her book. But I have started “To the Tome of Murder” and am pleasantly surprised so far. I will let you all know how it goes later.

Praying you have a great week and read good books! Becky
